PIROJPUR, May 08, 2020 (BSS) – With the personal funding of Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, a total of 550 packets of food items were distributed among the jobless people in the field adjacent to Bekutia Ferry Ghat under Sharitola- Dumritola union of the district today in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
About 17,000 food packets are being distributed in the second phase of the minister’s personal food distribution programme.
Pirojpur District Awami League (AL) Liberation War Affairs Secretary Gautam Chowdhury, Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman SM Bayazid Hossain and Durgapur Union AL Joint General Secretary Tapan Saha were present, among others, on the occasion.
Earlier, about 13,000 packets of food items were distributed among the jobless people of 26 unions and two municipalities in Rezaul’s home constituency with his personal fund.
