TMSS Medical College sets up corona isolation centre, ventilator
facilities

DHAKA, May 7, 2020 (BSS) – TMSS Medical College has set up a full-fledged
isolation centre and ventilator facilities at its 1000-bed hospital in Bogura
in order to supplement government’s ongoing programmes to combat the
infectious disease COVID-19.

“It is our great pleasure to announce that TMSS has set up a complete
corona isolation centre, five ventilator facilities and three quarantine
rooms at its medical college in Bogura,” Mohammad Ejar Uddin, advisor to
TMSS, said.

Ejar disclosed the information while he was distributing relief materials
along with other TMSS executive officials among the financial victims of
corona in city’s Agargoan area here, said a press release.

He said the facilities would not only help the government in managing
corona patients but also act as a great mental support to the people of the
northern region at this critical time.

Mohammad Humayun Rasdhid Jony, councilor of ward 14 of Dhaka North City
Corporation, and Mahmuda Begum, general secretary of Bangladesh Mohila Awami
League, were present on the occassion.

Relief materials, including rice, potato, pulse, sweet pumpkin, onion,
hand sanitizer and mask, were distributed among 500 poor families, the
release said, adding that the relief operation would continue during lockdown
and it would reach a total of 33,000 families.

According to the press release, TMSS has also distributed 500,000 masks,
established 900 washing points and distributed 900,000 leaflets for corona
awareness across the country.

Established by its founder Dr Hosne Ara in 1980 as an association of female
beggars, TMSS has become one of leading development organizations in four
decades in the country.
