Govt support to be continued for distressed: Shahab
DHAKA, May 7, 2020 (BSS)- Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister
Md Shahab Uddin today said the government under the supervision of Prime
Minister Sheik Hasina is working relentlessly to reach sufficient relief
items to the poor and unemployed people of the country amid to Coronavirus
pandemic.
“The humanitarian activities of reaching essential commodities to the poor
and distressed people will be continued,” he said, addressing a relief
distribution function in the capital.
Department of Environment (DoE) organized the relief distribution function
on the ground of Bidyaniketan School and College in city’s Banani area.
Shahab Uddin urged all to maintain the social distance to protect
themselves from Coronavirus.
The environment minister and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor MdAtiqul
Islam distributed relief items among 600 distressed people including persons
with disabilities.
Director General of DoE Dr AKM RafiqueAhamed was present in the function.
