Govt grants Tk 55 lakh for 1,300 women, children amid COVID-19 pandemic
DHAKA, May 05, 2020 (BSS)- The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs
today decided to provide a grant of Taka 55 lakh to about 1,300 needy women
and children under 3 categories- medical services, education assistance and
general financial aid- in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the board of trustees of the
tortured, distressed women and child welfare fund held at the ministry’s
conference room at the secretariat here with State Minister for Women and
Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira in the chair.
Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Kazi Rowshan
Akhter, Director Generalof Department of Women Affairs Parveen Sultana,
Director Generalof Bangladesh Shishu Academy Jyoti Lal Kuri, Additional
Secretary Farida Parveen, Board of Trusteemembers Begum Raushan Jahan Sathi
and Begum Hosne Ara Siddiqui Julie and representatives of several ministries
and departments were also present in the meeting.
