RANGPUR, May 4, 2020 (BSS) – Two coronavirus (COVID-19) infected
physicians today returned home from Rangpur Dedicated Corona Isolation
Hospital (DCIH) as they were recovered from the lethal virus.

“The physicians were: Medical Officers of Mithapukur Upazila Health
Complex (MUHC) in Rangpur Dr. Abdul Halim and Dr. Afsana Liza,”
Superintendent of Rangpur DCIH Dr. SM Nurun Nabi told BSS.

The physicians were diagnosed with the deadly COVID-19 virus on April 18
and 19 respectively and were admitted to the makeshift DCIH facility, an
extension of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

“After undergoing treatment at the DCIH for the last two weeks, their
samples were tested negative twice in a row in the last 24 hours and we
released them with discharge certificates declaring them recovered today,”
Dr. Nabi said.

The doctors, nurses and staff of the facility bade farewell to them with
bunches of flowers when they came out fearlessly with broad smiles on their
faces on the way back to their respective homes.

At present, 15 coronavirus infected people, including doctors and nurses
from across Rangpur division, are undergoing treatment at the hospital,” Dr.
Nabi said.
