Japan provides Tk 2.4 crore grant for social human security

DHAKA, May 4, 2020 (BSS) – Japan has approved a grant of Taka 2.4 crore to
three local non-government organizations (NGOs) here to enhance economic and
social human security at the grass-roots level.

Of the grant, Taka 70,00,000 each has been awarded to Thengamara Mohila
Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) for “Installation of Medical Equipment to Strengthen the
Capacity of Coronary and Trauma Services Bogura District” and Prism
Bangladesh Foundation (PRISM) for “Installation of the Equipment for Medical
Waste Management in Rajshahi District.”

Besides, Trust for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (TRP) will get Taka
one crore for “Construction of the Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with
Disabilities in Moulvibazar District”, said a press release issued by Japan
Embassy here today.

Japan has supported 197 NGO projects providing 15 million US dollars to
NGOs in Bangladesh through its Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human
Security Projects (GGHSP) since 1989.
