13 more test COVID-19 positive in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, May 4, 2020 (BSS) – Thirteen more persons were diagnosed
coronavirus (COVID-19) positive after testing 266 samples at Chattogram
Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) and BITID Chattogram in the
last 24 hours till noon today, raising the total number of confirmed cases to
94 in the Chattogram district only.
It is the highest number of COVID-19 patients detected in Chattogram
district in a single day.
Besides, two more people, hailing from Noahkhali district, were detected
as COVID-19 positive at BITID testing lab in the last 24 hours.
The local administrations have put their respective areas under lockdown,
administration sources said.
“We received a total of 266 samples of suspected coronavirus patients in
the last 24 hours and 15 people were found COVID-19 positive including police
and doctor after testing the samples in two laboratories in the Chattogram,”
Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS.
He said that seven persons were detected COVID-19 positive after testing
183 samples at BITID Fuzdarhat and eight people were detected corona positive
after testing 83 samples in CVASU Chattogram.
A total of 94 Corona positive patients were detected in Chattogram
district till today.
Of them, seven patients died, so far, and 21 were released after recovery
and the rest of the patients are taking treatment at the different hospitals
in Chattogram, he added.
