22,427 released from quarantine in Khulna division

KHULNA, May 04, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 22,427 people have, so far, been released from home or institutional quarantine, out of the total 26,737, as they showed no symptoms of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), in the division, an official said here today.

While talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) in Khulna Dr. Ferdousi Akther said a total of 22,427 people were released from home quarantine, 1,263 from institutional quarantine and 166 others from isolation in the division till 12 noon today as they showed no coronavirus symptoms.

She also said a total of 419 people were kept in home or institutional quarantine afresh during the last 24 hours.

With them, the number of quarantined people stood at 26,737 in the division and a total of 305 were released in the last 24 hours as they showed no symptoms of COVID-19, Dr. Ferdousi added.

Meanwhile, 190 more coronavirus test carried out at the COVID-19 regional Molecular Laboratory in KMC, raising the total number of test to 2,927 as the testing of COVID-19 started on April 7 last.

“We received 190 samples of suspected coronavirus patients in the last 24 hours and all were tested but no more positive case was detected till 12 noon today,” said Vice-Principal of Khulna Medical College (KMC) Dr Mehedi Newaz.

“A total of 144 COVID-19 positive patients were detected so far till 12 noon today in the division”, said Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana.
