Army distributes relief in Khulna
KHULNA, May,04, 2020 (BSS) -Bangladesh Army personnel today distributed relief materials, including food, masks and sanitizer, among the destitute people in different areas in the city as part of their countrywide relief programme.
Army personnel today distributed foodstuff in Shiromony, Fulbari, Gilatola, Khalishpur area and Ward no-11 and 27 of the city, a press release said here.
The Army SSC center and School distributed huge rice, atta (flour), pulse, oil, potato, onion and masks among over 200 poor families in the area. They also undertook social awareness campaign against deadly coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 6000 families, so far, received foodstuff, 2000 hand units of sanitizer and huge masks during the coronavirus outbreak, the release said, adding that the training centers and organisations under Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) are distributing many kinds of relief among the destitute families side by side assisting the local civil administration.
The ongoing efforts include motivation of common people to raise their awareness, distribution of leaflets, foodstuffs and masks and spraying antibiotics on roads and in public places and conducting hand-washing and cleanliness campaigns to prevent contagion of COVID-19.
