Army, Navy distribute relief, spray disinfectant in three districts

KHULNA, May 03, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Army and Navy personnel separately distributed relief materials, including food, iftar items, masks, soaps and leaflets on awareness building among the destitute people and sprayed germicides on different roads in Khulna, Barguna and Bagerhat districts yesterday.

In Khulna, army personnel distributed foodstuffs including rice, flour, pulse, oil, potato, onion and masks among 850 destitute families at Khalishpur, Zero Point, Lobon Chora, Bajua and Shoilpur ghat in the district, a press release said here.

They also distributed iftar items among 300 other destitute families in those areas and conducted social awareness campaign against deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, the navy personnel of Khulna, Barguna and Bagerhat districts assisted the local administration for distributing relief materials among 2,318 poor families and handed over 300 leaflets on awareness building among people as well as sprayed disinfectant on various streets in different areas of the three districts.

In Bagerhat, the navy contingent conducted campaign against COVID-19 in Digrajbazar, Chila, Sundarban, Burir Dhanga and Chorkonai of Mongla upazila, a release said.

Besides, navy personnel assisted the local administration for conducting special mobile courts at different areas in Barguna and Bagerhat districts when the mobile courts fined taka 10,600 for opening shop violating guidelines.
