DHAKA, May 2, 2020 (BSS) – Three persons were killed in separate road
accidents in Habiganj and Joypurhat districts today.
Two persons were killed in a collision between a pickup and a tractor at
Alakpur area on Madhabpur-Mantala road under Madhabpur Upazila in Habiganj
district this morning.
The deceased were identified as Habib Mia, 40, of Baniachong upazila in
Habiganj and Didar Mia, 50, of Khanpur village in Noakhali district.
The incident took place at the area at around 10 am when a rod-laden
pickup van collided with a tractor and the pickup fell into a roadside ditch,
injuring them badly, said Madhabpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC)
Iqbal Hossain .
Being informed by locals, Madhabpur Fire Service and Madhabpur Police
reached the spot and rescued the injured and also took them to Madhabpur
Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
The bodies of the deceased are kept in the hospital for autopsies.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed and other two pillions of the
motorcycle were injured in a road accident at Chotara-Dhatalipara area in
Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat today.
The victim was identified as Delwar Hossain , 32, a construction worker.
The accident took place at 12.30 pm at the area when Delwar was giving
space to a running tractor in the road, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of
Khetlal Police Station ABM Siddiqur Rahman.
Due to drizzle, the road was wet and the victim lost control of his
steering.
Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Khetlal Upazila Health
Complex.
