KHULNA , May 01, 2020 (BSS) -Teachers of Khulna University (KU) have donated Taka one lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund in a bid to mitigate sufferings of the poor and jobless people in the wake of coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
President of KU Swadhinata Shikkhok Parishad Professor Dr. Hosne Ara and General Secretary Professor Dr. Ashis Kumar Das handed over a cheque for the money to Khulna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Helal Hossain at his office yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, said a press release of KU.
The amount consists of one-day salary of the university teachers, officers and employees to help the government fight the deadly coronavirus in the country, release added.
DC Md Helal Hossain highly appreciated the donation of the KU and said that the donated money will be sent to the PM’s relief fund at the earliest.
