CHATTOGRAM, April 30, 2020 (BSS) – Four more persons were diagnosed
coronavirus (COVID-19) positive after testing 110 samples at BITID Chattogram
in the last 24 hours till noon today, raising the total number of confirmed
cases to 72 in Chattogram district only.
Besides, 10 more people were detected coronavirus positive after testing 99
samples in Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) in the
last 24 hours under the testing lab fixed for five other districts in
Chattogram division.
Among the 10 COVID-19 patients, six are in Laxmipur district, three in
Noakhali district and one in Feni district under CVASU lab.
The local administrations have put their respective areas under lockdown,
official sources said.
“We received a total of 210 samples of suspected coronavirus patients in
the last 24 hours and 14 of those were found COVID-19 positive after testing
in two laboratories in the Chattogram,” Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi
told BSS.
He said four more persons were found COVID-19 positive after testing 110
samples at BITID Fouzdarhat and 10 more people were detected corona positive
after testing 99 samples in CVASU Chattogram in the last 24 hours till noon
today.
A total of 72 Corona positive patients were detected in Chattogram district
till today.
Of them, six patients died, so far, 17 were released after recovery and the
rest of the patients are taking treatment at the different hospitals in
Chattogram, he added.
