Maintaining social distancing to check coronavirus spread stressed
GAIBANDHA, April 30, 2020 (BSS) – Secretary to the Post and Telecommunication Division, who has also been tasked to supervise Covid-19 situation and coordinate relief distribution activity here, Nur-ur-Rahman stressed maintaining social distancing and using masks and hand sanitizers to check coronavirus transmission.
An emphasis should also be given on cutting Boro paddy so that the growers can harvest their paddy timely and sell the additional produces to the government directly at fair prices without any trouble and hindrance, he also said.
He made the comments while addressing a view exchanging meeting with the upazila administration, upazila level officials and political leaders at the auditorium of Sadullapur upazila parishad in the district on Thursday as the chief guest.
Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Nabinauaz, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by additional deputy commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat, upazila chairman and general secretary of upazila Awami League (AL) Shahria Khan Biplob, its vice president Zillur Rahman Khandkar, upazila health and family planning officer Dr. M. Shahinul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur thana Masud Rana, local press club president Tajul Islam Reza and Damordarpur UP chairman Sajedul Islam Shwadhin.
Nur-ur-Rahman said the people who will come to the district from other parts of the country must have to be kept in home quarantine for the safety of other people.
He urged all to work unitedly to ensure home quarantine for those returned from different districts to check the spread of coronavirus.
Simultaneously, he also expressed a note of warning against any misappropriating in distributing relief materials to the needy people during this coronavirus situation.
Earlier, the secretary also participated in the view exchange meeting at the arrangement of Sundarganj upazila administration of the district.
