Senior journalist Khandaker Mohitul Islam Ranju dies

DHAKA, April 29, 2020(BSS) – senior journalist Khandaker Mohitul Islam Ranju died of stroke while undergoing treatment at a city hospital yesterday.

He was 68.

He was kept in life support at united hospital after having brain stroke at his Nikunja residence in the city on April 16, family sources said.

He left behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

His namaj-e-janaza will be held at Nikunja-1 Jame Masjid after Asr prayers today.

Later, he will be buried at the graveyard adjacent to the aforesaid mosque.

Mohitul Islam worked as a news consultant at the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

He also worked for various national dailies including the Daily Observer.

He served as the editor of the daily Janata.
