KHULNA, April 29, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque has distributed foodstuffs among 1000 jobless people at Khalishpur Bihari camp here aimed at mitigating their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
KCC mayor distributed 200 maunds of rice among the needy people as a part of government assistance and each of the beneficiary received 8-kg rice on Wednesday afternoon.
Later, the mayor distributed vegetable items including spinach, gourd, squash and potato among them under the private humanitarian aid cell by strictly maintaining physical distancing.
Cabinet Secretary (Coordination and Reforms) Md. Kamal Hossain was present during the distribution of food items.
Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain, General Secretary of City Awami League MDA Babul Rana, Director of Khulna Divisional Labour Directorate Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Inspector General of the Directorate of Factory and Establishment Inspection Md. Ariful Islam and ward councilors, among others, accompanied the mayor.
