Hasan mourns death of journalist Homayuan
DHAKA, April 29, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of the city editor and chief reporter of the Daily Shomoyer Alo, Homayuan Kabir Khokon.
In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The Information Minister said the country has lost a dedicated journalist as well as a good person at the death of Homayuan.
In separate condolence message, State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Homayuan.
Besides, Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Golam Mohammed Quader and leaders of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), Dhaka Union of Journalist (DUJ) as well as Cumilla Journalists Forum-Dhaka expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul as well as conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Homayuan passed away yesterday night while undergoing treatment at a city hospital at the age of 50.
He, also president of Brihottor Cumilla Sangbadik Samity, had earlier worked for different media outlets including Amader Somoy and Dainik Manabzamin.
