Daily Shomoyer Alo city editor Homayuan dies

DHAKA, April 29, 2020 (BSS) – City Editor and Chief Reporter of The Daily Shomoyer Alo Homayuan Kabir Khokon died of respiratory problems at a city hospital on Tuesday night.

He was 50.

He had been staying at home for the past few days due to illness, family sources said.

He was taken to Regent Hospital in city’s Uttara on Tuesday afternoon after his breathing difficulties got worsened.

Later, he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital for ventilation support and at last, he passed away at around 10:20 pm there.

Being informed by the hospital authorities, the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) collected his samples to detect if he was infected with coronavirus.

He left behind mother, wife, one son, two daughters and grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

He was born in Chapitola village of Bangra Bazar Thana in Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla.

Homayuan, also president of Brihottor Cumilla Sangbadik Samity, had earlier worked for different media outlets including Amader Somoy and Dainik Manabzamin.
