DHAKA, April 28, 2020 (BSS) – Several ministers today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of National Professor Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury.
In separate condolence messages, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun and Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
A former adviser to the Caretaker Government, Prof Jamilur Reza died of heart attack in his city’s Dhanmondi residence at the age of 77.
He was the founding vice-chancellor (VC) of BRAC University and was also working as the VC of the University of Asia Pacific.
Ekushey Padak Awardee, Prof Choudhury was a civil engineer who graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
