PTD provides protective gears to 3 hospitals

DHAKA, April 27, 2020 (BSS) – Posts and Telecommunications Division (PTD)
provided some protective gears to three medical college hospitals here in an
effort to contain COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today handed over the
protective gears for medical professionals to Bangladesh Post Office (BPO)
Director General S S Bhadra for distribution at a video conference.

PTD Secretary Nur-Ur-Rahman was also connected, said an official press
release.

The hospitals are Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College
and Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College which received two personal protective
equipments and three electronic thermal scanners each.

Besides, PTD also provided 1,000 masks each to BPO, and Khaliazuri Upazila
and Jenidah District administration. In addition, 1,900 masks were also
distributed to officials and employees of PTD and its eight organizations
through post offices.

China Machinery and Engineering Corporation gave the protective gears to
PTD for its officials and employees engaged in emergency services such as
telephone, internet and parcel distribution.
