DMP conducts mobile court to control unnecessary movement

DHAKA, April 27, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police has been conducting mobile courts to control unnecessary movement of people on city streets here to halt the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Executive magistrates of DMP conducted the mobile courts in different police divisions in the capital yesterday, a DMP press release said.

During the drives, Taka 4,200 was realized from offenders in Mirpur division, Taka 2000 in Motijheel division, Taka 2000 from Uttara division, Taka 5000 from Lalbagh division and Taka 5,200 was realized from Wari division.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on April 16, declared the entire country as a risky area of infection (of COVID-19) as per the Section 11 (1) of the Infectious Disease (Prevention, Control and Elimination) Act, 2018.

An order signed by DGHS Director General Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad said people must stay at home to stop the spread of the coronavirus, and none will be allowed to go out of home, except emergency needs.

Movement of the people from one place to another has been strictly controlled, the order said, adding none can go out of home from 6pm to 6am.
