LGRD ministry allocates Tk 52.25 crore for local govt institutions
DHAKA, April 26, 2020 (BSS) – The Local Government, Rural Development and
Cooperatives Ministry has allocated Taka 52.25 crore more for local
government institutions to meet different needs, including paying salaries
and allowances of the employees and carrying out relief activities, amid the
COVID-19 shutdown.
The Local Government Division today issued a government order (GO) in this
regard, said a press release.
Of the total allocation, Taka 24.45 crore has been allocated for 492
Upazila Parishads, Taka 16 crore for 61 District Councils, Taka 6.80 crore
for 12 city corporations and Taka 5 crore for 138 “B” and “C” category
municipalities.
Earlier, the ministry gave a special allocation of Taka 33.02 crore for
the local government institutions on March 25 to face the coronavirus
situation.
