SC stays decision of small-scale operation till May 5
DHAKA, April 26, 2020 (BSS) – Supreme Court (SC) authorities today stayed till May 5 its earlier decision to hold small-scale operation of the apex court during the ongoing general holiday declared to contain the lethal coronavirus pandemic.
The latest decision was taken at a full court meeting of the judges of both the divisions of the Supreme Court, a notification signed by its Registrar General Md Ali Akbar said.
The apex court on April 23 had decided to conduct proceedings of Appellate Division Chamber Judge Court and a single-judge bench at the High Court Division to dispose of the emergency matters.
The notification, which was issued today, said the full court meeting that was held through video conferencing decided to stay the April 23 notification and not to conduct operation of the apex court during the holiday period.
