RMCH gets PPEs, masks and other protective gears

RAJSHAHI, April 26, 2020 (BSS)- Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, has extended
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with personal protective equipment
(PPE), thermal scanners, masks and other protective gears here today.

Lawmaker Badsha, who is also the governing body president of RMCH, provided
50 PPEs, five thermal scanners, 40 N-95 masks, 20 KN-95 masks and hand gloves
aimed at infusing more dynamism into the RMCH’s service delivery activities
amid coronavirus crisis.

He formally handed over the protective gears to RMCH Director Brig Gen
Jamilur Rahman at the latter’s office from his personal initiative to handle
the present troubled situation effectively.

On the occasion, Badsha was apprised that the RMCH has geared up
precautionary measures to fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Brig Jamilur Rahman said need-based steps have been taken to strengthen the
hospital aimed at combating the coronavirus (COVID- 19) outbreak in the
region.

The RMCH’s 30 Number Ward has been prepared for treatment of the infected
patients. Around 200 patients can be given treatment in the ward
simultaneously.

Besides, there are some additional advantages like 16 ICU and eight HDU
beds in the ward which will be very much helpful to cope with any emergency
situation.

He added that another coronavirus sample testing laboratory is going to be
established in RMCH as it has already received another PCR machine that will
be used for identification of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
