Khulna BCL, Jubo League lend hand in harvesting paddy

KHULNA, April 26, 2020 (2020) – Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh
Chhatra League (BCL) and youth wing Jubo League’s leaders and activists are
standing beside farmers in the city and district extending their help in
harvesting IRRI-Boro paddy amid ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

During the harvesting season, when, farmers became frustrated with the
harvest of their produces because of workers’ crisis amid coronavirus
situation in the district, at that right time, Jubo League and BCL leader and
activists came forward in cutting and thrashing paddy, bringing smiles on
farmers’ faces.

As a part of directives from central committee of both the organizations,
its local activists jump up in helping farmers to harvest IRRI-Boro paddy
here.

On Saturday, Jubo League and BCL men in Khulna led by Convener of Khulna
City unit Jubo League Safiqur Rahman Palash and General Secretary of City
unit BCL Asaduzzaman Russell are seen lending their hands in harvesting
farmers’ paddy at Deyana village in Doulotpur area in the city and Batiaghata
upazila of the district.

They not only cut the paddy from the field but also took the crops to
farmers’ houses and also thrashed them.

In this regard, Safiqur Rahman Palash said they are helping farmers’ in
harvesting their paddy on humanitarian ground as farmers are in workers
crisis due to coronavirus situation.

He said at least 30 leaders and activists took part in harvesting, adding
that “We cut off Boro paddy from the five bighas of land of farmer Azhar
Morol of Deyana village in the city and also thrashed them after taking the
crops at his home on Saturday”.

BCL leader Asaduzzaman Russell said BCL had always played an important role
in the country’s all crisis period.

“We are always ready to help farmers in harvesting their paddy amid such
crucial period in all upazila under Khulna district,” he added.
