KCC mayor distributes food among 4,500 workers of trucks, jute mills

KHULNA, April 26, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed relief materials among 4,500 truck and jute mill workers aimed at mitigating their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

KCC mayor distributed 525 maunds rice among 3,000 truck workers and each of the beneficiary received 7 kg rice on the premises of the Directorate of Labour at Boyra in the city here this morning. Later, the mayor distributed relief materials among 1,500 jute mill workers under the food support programme of the government in the city by strictly maintaining physical distancing.

Each of the beneficiary family received a sac containing 5 kg rice, 2 kg potato, one kg each of onion, edible oil and pulse, two pieces of soaps and 500 gram iodized salt.

Additional District Magistrate Md Yousuf Ali, General Secretary of City Awami League MDA Babul Rana, Director of Khulna Divisional Labour Directorate Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Inspector General of the Directorate of Factory and Establishment Inspection Md. Ariful Islam, among others, accompanied the mayor.
