Database formation to make aid distribution transparent, easier: Palak

NATORE, April 25, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid
Ahmed Palak today said the ongoing aid distribution process will become more
transparent and easier through the formation of database of the poor and
unemployed people.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to overcome the
ongoing coronavirus crisis with her limited resources. We would be able to
tackle any situation by making coordination between institutional and
personal assistance alongside the government. We have to tackle the corona
situation through proper coordination,” he said.

The state minister said these while speaking at a views exchange meeting
on health management, aid distribution and law and order at Natore district
administration office.

Palak said the government has to provide aid to 22 percent poor population
and 30 percent unemployed people in the next three months.

“If we can bring these people under a database and use QR code while
distributing aid, we would be able to make the process fair and success. ICT
Division would provide necessary assistance in this regard,” he added.

Presided over by Natore deputy commissioner (DC) Md Shah Reaj, the meeting
was also addressed by Natore Awami League president and Natore-4 lawmaker
Prof Abdul Quddus, Bangladesh Army representative in the district Lt Col
Mostafa Arrifur Rahman, superintendant of police Liton Kumar Saha, civil
surgeon Dr Qazi Mizanur Rahman and Natore district administration chairman
Adv Sazedur Rahman Khan, among others.
