Kushtia, April 24, 2020 (BSS) – On the occasion of holy Ramadan, a month-
long food assistance programme was launched today in the district town with a
view to providing foods among destitute people.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jubayer Hossain Chowdhury inaugurated the
food assistance programme as the chief guest maintaining ‘Social Distancing’
on Jugia Kadamtala Vargan Tobacco premises.
Vargan Tobacco is financing the programme.
During the time, rice, pulses, oil, salt and other essential commodities
were distributed among 200 poor families aiming to mitigate their hardship
caused by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
