RANGPUR, April 23, 2020 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan (RpMP) Police
Commissioner Md. Abdul Alim Mahmud today distributed food materials among
1,000 jobless, poor and needy families of ward no.16 of the metropolis this
afternoon.
The police commissioner distributed rice, potato, sugar, flour, edible oil,
salt and semolina among the families at a function held on Hajipara Madrasha
ground by strictly maintaining physical distance to prevent the spread of
coronavirus (COVID-19).
Leaders and members of Ward No.16 Community Policing Committee arranged the informal function and provided assistance in distributing the food items in a well-organised manner.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters) of RpMP Md. Mahidul Islam and
other police officials were present at the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the RpMP Chief said food distribution among the
jobless and needy people of the metropolis would continue until the COVID-19
situation improves.
He called upon the affluent people of the society and different
organisations, institutions, business bodies and voluntary organisations to
extend food assistance to the jobless and needy people under the present
situation.
