150 coastal tribal families get foodstuffs in Khulna
KHULNA, April 23, 2020 (BSS) – Some 150 coastal tribal (Munda and Mahato) families of Koyra upazila in the district got foodstuffs aimed at mitigating their financial hardship being caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Each of family received a sac containing 5-kg of rice, 2-kg of potato as well as one kg each of onion, edible oil and pulse, one soap, masks and 500-gram of iodized salt by strictly maintaining physical distancing amid coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
District administration distributed the food stuffs as Parliament member of Khulna-6 constituency Md. Akhteruzzaman Babu, deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain and upazila nirbahi officer of Koyra upazila Shimul Kumar Saha, among others, were present.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Army, Navy and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) distributed foodstuffs, hand sanitizers, masks and other virus safety equipments in different areas of the city and district.
