Lightning strike kills farmer in Sherpur
SHERPUR, April 22, 2020 (BSS) – A farmer was killed by a lightning strike
in Bamaner Char area of Char Sherpur Union under Sadar upazila of the
district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Hazrat Ali, 60, son of Sama Miah.
According to sources, Ali died on the spot when a thunderbolt struck him
while he was harvesting paddy in the field.
Confirming the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) ABM Ehsanul
Mamun said concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) has been directed to give
assistance to the victim’s family.
