Govt allocates 94,667 MT rice, Tk47.35cr for poor
DHAKA, April 22, 2020 (BSS) – The government has so far allocated 94,667 metric tonnes (MT) rice and over Taka 47.35 crore in cash for the low-income groups across the country as they remain without work following the restrictive measures taken to battle the coronavirus.
They are being provided with the assistance through the district and upazila administrations, said a Press Information Department (PID) handout today.
Disaster Management and Relief Ministry allocated both the financial and food assistance. The ministry has allocated the financial assistance for purchasing different essential items, including baby food.
