33, including drug traders held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, June 19, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
33 persons including 20 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 350 bottles of Phensidyl and 200 liters of
locally-made liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested seven drug traders,
Biral Thana police arrested two persons, Birganj Thana police arrested three
drug traders with 200 liters of locally-made liquor, Khansama Thana police
arrested four drug traders, Parbatipur Thana police arrested three persons,
Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested
two persons, Birampur Thana police arrested two persons, Ghoraghat Thana
police arrested one drug trader with 50 bottles of Phensidyl and Chirirbandar
Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
five drug traders with 300 bottles of Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili Railway
Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
