KCC mayor distributes foodstuffs among goldsmiths, motor workers

KHULNA, April 21, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed relief materials among 600 goldsmiths and motor workers aimed at mitigating their financial hardship being caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Each of family received a sac containing 5-kg of rice, 2-kg of potato, one kg each of onion, edible oil and pulse, one soap, masks and 500-gram of iodized salt.

The city mayor distributed the food aid among them on Divisional Commissioner Office premises at Boyra in the city here this morning by strictly maintaining physical distancing amid coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development) Syed Rabiul Alam, Deputy Commissioner Md. Helal Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, Director of Khulna Divisional Labour Directorate Md. Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Inspector General of the Directorate of Factory and Establishment Inspection Md. Ariful Islam, among others, were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Navy yesterday distributed relief materials including food, PPEs, masks and soaps among the destitute people, conducted awareness raising campaign, rally as well as sprayed germicides on different roads in Khulna, Barguna and Bagerhat districts, said an official release.
