Destitute people get rice in Rangpur sadar upazila

RANGPUR, April 20, 2020 (BSS) – Five tonnes of rice allocated by the government was distributed today among 1,000 jobless, distressed and needy families of Haridebpur union in Sadar upazila of the district amid coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Each of the beneficiary received five kg of rice in an informal ceremony arranged on Haridebpur union parishad premises.

Rangpur Sadar upazila chairman and Women Affairs Secretary of district Awami League Nasima Zaman Boby with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Israt Sadia Shumi distributed the rice strictly maintaining physical distance.

Nasima Zaman Boby said the rice sent by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was distributed among the jobless and needy people to assist them in facing the COVID-19 situation.

Haridebpur union parishad Chairman Md. Iqbal Hossain and all members of the union parishad were present on the occasion.
