KHULNA, April 20, 2020 (BSS) – The local administrations, private and public representatives continue distributing essential food items among the destitute families in different parts of the division by maintaining social distancing amid coronavirus situation.
Khulna divisional administration, district administrations, Khulna city corporation, Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy Khulna, Rapid Action Battalion, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), Khulna Press Club, local Awami League (AL) leaders, socio-cultural activists and non-government and volunteer organisations keep distributing essential foods among poor to mitigate their hardship caused by the outbreak of coronavirus.
Bangladesh Army distributed huge masks, hand sanitizers and food among 2000 destitute families in Fultala and Gilatala area while Bangladesh Navy distributed awareness leaflets and food stuff among 166 families in different areas of Mongla and Bagerhat.
Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khaleque distributed food among 144 Printing press laborers at Khulna Zila school ground by maintaining social distancing yesterday afternoon.
Each of the beneficiary received a sac containing five kgs of rice, two kgs of potato, one kg of onion, one liter of edible oil, one kg pulse, two pieces of soaps and 500 gram iodized salt.
Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) Ziaur Rahman, among others, accompanied him at that time.
