BAF aircraft returns from China with medical aids
DHAKA, April 19, 2020 (BSS) – A C-130J transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) returned to Dhaka from China today with medical aids including coronavirus (Covid-19) detection kits and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The medical aids- surgical masks-12,22,000, N-95 masks-7,500, elect thermometer-130, protective gloves-2,000, medical safety glasses-10,200, goggles-200 and personal protective equipment (PPE)-10,459- from China were flown home by BAF C-130J aircraft under ‘In Aid to Civil Power’ by Armed Forces Division in containing the deadly virus outbreak.
Healthcare aids (PPE, masks and sanitizers) collected from China were also brought to provide various entities engaged in combating coronavirus in Bangladesh under the initiative of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, said an ISPR press release.
A total 16 BAF aircrew departed Shah Amanat International Airport, Chattogram for China on Friday by BAF C-130J aircraft to bring the essential healthcare aids.
Air Commodore Md Zahidur Rahman of Bangladesh Air Force led the team.
