Hathazari upazila put under lockdown
CHATTOGRAM, April 19, 2020 (BSS) – The local administration has placed Hathazari upazila under lockdown in a bid to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
Ruhhul Amin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Hathazari, told BSS that Ilias Hossain, deputy commissioner of Chattogram, directed the upazila administration to lockdown Hathazari as the number of coronavirus patients has increased in the upazila.
As per the directive, the lockdown will come into effect from 6 am on Monday.
Under the directive, no vehicles, except the emergency services will be allowed to ply in the upazila during the lockdown.
The directive also prohibited all sorts of public gathering and asked all to maintain social distance properly.
