BHF president holds video conference to discuss future tournaments
DHAKA, April. 19, 2020 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) president and Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat BBP, OSP, NDU, PSC today held a video conference with its executive members to discuss regarding the future tournaments as well as the entire situation of the federation.
BHF vice presidents Abdur Rashid Sikder, Sajid AA Adel and Zaki Ahmed Ripon, BHF acting general secretary Mohammad Yousuf, BHF joint secretary Kamrul Islam Kismat and BHF treasurer Hazi Mohammad Yousuf also joined in the two-hour long video conference.
In the conference, opinions were sought from the executive members regarding the future of the international tournaments as well as for the sake of extend helping hand to the poor hockey players.
Besides, the BHF president also inquired the official activities in the current situation aroused by COVID-19.
Earlier, the BHF office at Maulana Bhashani National Stadium, shut down from March 22 last due to outbreak of deadly Corona virus in the country and all over the world.
As per direction of BHF President all kinds of hockey activities like hockey match, hockey practices have been suspended at the hockey stadium during the period, in addition to closure of its office.
Hockey Federation also advised their officials and staffs to complete their necessary official job through online aiming to prevent the transmission of coronavirus and asked them to take care about the safety of them and their family members.
Earlier International Hockey Federation also advised its member countries to follow the instruction of World Health Organization (WHO) as well as advised the world to take proper steps to stop the spread of the virus.
Not just in Bangladesh, but many sports events and sporting authorities have taken these steps around the World as well.
