3 hotels selected for doctors, health workers in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, April 17, 2020 (BSS) – The District Coronavirus Prevention and Combating Committee (CPCC) has selected three residential hotels as boarding houses for doctors, nurses and other health workers serving the coronavirus patients in Chattogram. District Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today that the CPCC has selected Hotel The Elena, Hotel Asian SR and Hotel Paramount on Station Road under Kotwali thana in the city.
Dr Rabbi said that earlier, the Public Administration Training Center at Asker Dighi in the city was earmarked for the doctors and health workers of Chattogram General Hospital (CGH).
Later, doctors and health workers of CGH were staying at Hotel Al Imam from Sunday, Dr Rabbi said. “A total of 17 doctors, nurses and health workers have been performing their responsibility at CGH Corona Isolation unit now,” he added.
The hospital authority decided to keep them at Al Imam Hotel considering risk of being with their family.
A total of 1,125 corona samples were tested at BITID in Chattogram till today and of those, 55 tested positive.
Among the 55 corona patients, 33 were identified in Chattogram, 19 in Laxmipur district, two in Noakhali district, and the rest one in Femi district.
A total of five corona patients out of 33 died in Chattogram till today.
