Nasrul for continuing uninterrupted power, energy supply during crisis

DHAKA, April 16, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said countrywide uninterrupted power and energy supply will be continued round the clock in any situation.

“Supply of uninterrupted electricity, gas and energy services will be continued during the crisis triggered by Covid-19 outbreak,” he told a coordination meeting through videoconference from his Baridhara residence.

The state minister asked all concerned to ensure uninterrupted supply of power and energy during the holy month of Ramadan and the summer as well.

He extended his heartiest thanks to the ministry’s officials and employees in ensuring smooth power and energy supply at grassroots.

Nasrul urged all power, energy and mineral resources divisions and corporations and companies for preparing a coordinated plan on what to do to avoid any public hassle in the field of power and energy services in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.

Energy Secretary M Anisur Rahman, Power Secretary Dr Sultan Ahmed, BPC Chairman M Shamsur Rahman, Petrobangla Chairman ABM Abdul Fattah, BPDB Chairman M Belayet Hossain, BREB Chairman Major General (retd) Moin Uddin and Power Cell DG Engineer Mohammad Hossain were present.
