BDRCS starts disinfectant spray operations in capital

DHAKA, April 16, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Red Crescent society (BDRCS) today started spraying disinfectant at all the thanas under Dhaka metropolitan police as part of its series of operations to fight and control the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The volunteers of the society are working relentlessly to this end as they are also spraying germicide liquid at various hospitals in the capital and across the country, at various ministries and divisions as well as public and private offices, mosques, temples and other places of worship, at various media houses and hatbazars.

The volunteers of the society today sprayed disinfectant at Motijheel, Mugda, Shahjahanpur, and in Demra thana. Another team of the society sprayed disinfectant at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, at the Directorate General of Health Services and Department of Disaster Management.

Besides, the society volunteers will also spray disinfectant at various hospitals in the capital tonight including the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

Earlier on April 14 and 15, the volunteers of the society sprayed disinfectant at some 12 thanas including Ramna, Paltan, Hatirjheel, Wari, Bangshal, Tejgaon, Lalbagh, Chakbazar, Gandaria, Shyampur, New Market, and Hazaribagh thana.

The society said they have a plan to spray disinfectant at all the thanas and all the offices of various law enforcement agencies in the capital in phases.
