International ICT Conference 2018 held in Nepal

KATHMANDU, June 18, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – The international conference on
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) 2018 concluded in Nepal’s
capital on Monday.

The two-day event was organized by the Federation of Computer Association
Nepal under the theme “Sustainable Development Goals for Smart Society.”

The conference was attended by both local and foreign ICT stakeholders,
experts and enthusiasts from various countries like Nepal, India, Bangladesh,
China, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea.

The conference dwelt over various issues and aspects of ICT including
infrastructures, global trend, its usage and benefits among others.

According to federation, the event worked as a common platform to discuss
about global perspectives, promoting digital economy and use if ICT in
security and service. Speakers highlighted on the need of promoting the ICT
sector through digitalization.

While referring to Nepal, experts suggested on need of developing
infrastructures and necessary steps to be taken to expand internet and IT
telecommunication services.

This is the first time that the Federation of Computer Association Nepal
organized this international conference.
