CHAPAINAWABGANJ, April 14, 2020 (BSS) – Two children drowned in the Pagla River under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Jui, 11, daughter of Ziaur Rahman of Jalmachmari area under Shibganj municipality and Mohammad Imran, 8, son of Zubayer Hossain of the same area.
Mentioning that the deceased were cousins, Sub-inspector Abdul Matin of Shibganj police station said they drowned while they were taking bathe in the river around 12:30pm.
Locals rescued them around 1 pm and took them to the upazila health complex where the on duty doctor declared them dead.
The bodies were handed over to their families.
An unnatural death case was filed with Shibganj police station, SI Matin added.
