Benazir for stern action for misappropriation of relief goods
DHAKA, April 13, 2020 (BSS) – The newly appointed Inspector General
of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed today said stern action will be taken
against the people who are involved with misappropriation of relief
materials during the cornavirus pandemic.
“We will leave no stone unturned for proper distribution of relief
goods among the poor. Stern action would be taken against the people
who are involved with misappropriation of relief materials,” he told
newsmen on the eve of his departure from RAB forces here.
Urging the people to maintain social distancing in order to contain
coronavirus, he called for raising awareness in all strata of the
society in the greater national interest.
He also urged the people not to make gatherings while distributing
relief goods in their respective areas.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, mentioned about ‘Zero
tolerance’ policy against embezzlement of relief materials during the
ongoing coronavirus crisis.
