BDRCS, Coca Cola distribute 12,000 bottles of drinking water

DHAKA, April 12, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS)
jointly with the Coca Cola today distributed 12,000 bottles of mineral water
at six city hospitals as part of their series of operations to fight and
control Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The volunteers of the society distributed these bottles of mineral water
at six hospitals in the capital, including at Mugda General Hospital, Sajeda
Foundation Hospital, ICDDRB and BSMMU, said a press release here.

The release said the BDRCS has been sending “Ghore Thakun, Sasthobidhi
Mene Cholun” message to the people of the country to create awareness among
them on COVID-19 side by side conducting various awareness campaigns. The
volunteers of the society have been working relentlessly to this end.

Since March 22, some 68 units of the society representing 64 districts
have been conducting various awareness campaigns like using loudspeakers to
create awareness, distributing health safety materials like soaps, hand
sanitizers and masks and spraying disinfectant at hospitals, mosques,
hatbazars, different government and private offices and such operations will
continue.

Meanwhile, the society has started distributing health safety materials
among the prison personnel of 57 jails across the country while such
materials would be distributed among the prison personnel of three jails
soon. BDRCS in cooperation of the International Committee of the Red Cross
has been conducting such operation.

The volunteers of the society today sprayed germicide liquid at various
parts of the capital, including at the DGHS, while the volunteers would also
spray disinfectant at eight city hospitals of the country tonight.
