38 more Khulna people fined for violating “stay home” guidelines

KHULNA, April 12, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile courts here fined 38 people for violating coronavirus related guidelines including unnecessary movement and defying social distancing in last 24 hours as of 10 am today.

The mobile courts fined around Taka 50,600 conducting drives in different areas of the city and upazilas in the district.

Executive Magistrate Md. Mizanur Rahman, Md. Ismail Hossain, Md. Setu Kumar Barua and Tahmidul Islam of Khulna district administration conducted the special mobile courts to have a look that whether people maintains coronavirus related guidelines.

Besides, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s and assistant commissioners (land) also conducted special mobile courts at Paikgacha, Digholia, Rupsha, Koyra, Dumuria and Dakop and other upazilas for violating coronavirus related guidelines.

The army personnel and other law enforcement agencies’ members assisted the mobile courts.

Executive Magistrate Md. Mizanur Rahman said some defiant persons were penalized for infringing ‘stay at home’ guidelines, opening shops and not maintaining social distancing.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md. Yousuf Ali of Khulna said 38 more people were fined under Section 188 of Penal Code 1860.
