Khulna administration acts to prevent community transmission of coronavirus

KHULNA, April 12, 2020 (BSS) – The civil administrations with assistance of the Armed Forces, Police and other law enforcement agencies is acting by putting maximum priority to preventing community transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the division.

The Armed Forces, Police, RAB and other law enforcement agencies, local government bodies as well as voluntary organisations are assisting the civil administrations to maintain social distancing and cope with the emerging situation caused by coronavirus pandemic across the division.

“We have put maximum priority to ensuring social distancing, restricting gathering, providing treatments to COVID-19 patients and handing over food to jobless and needy people,” said Divisional Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader.

He was addressing a view-exchange meeting with physician leaders and medical facilities owners at circuit house conference room yesterday evening.

The Khulna district administration organised the meeting attended by the leaders of Bangladesh Medical Association in Khulna, Private Medical Practitioners Association and Private Clinic and Diagnostic Owners Association maintaining social distancing aimed to come forward and get together in fighting against COVID-19 in the district.

Chaired by Khulna Divisional Commission Dr Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Md. Helal Hossain, Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, DGFI officials, deputy civil surgeons and leaders of the medical organizations.

To prevent the community transmission of COVID-19, the meeting has decided that private medical college and hospitals will continue to provide emergency and outdoor medical services in Khulna along with government hospitals.
