Muslim countries’ envoys donate 6 tonnes food for destitute

DHAKA, April 11, 2020 (BSS) – Envoys of Muslim countries stationed here
today donated six tonnes of food by their personal capacities for the
destitute here to lessen their sufferings amid the lockdown in the wake of
deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation was handed over to Dhaka deputy commissioner (DC) Abu Saleh
Mohammed Ferdous Khan in presence of foreign minister Dr A K Abdul Momen at
the State Guest House Padma, a foreign ministry press release said here.

Palestine Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef S Y Ramadan, Saudi Arab
Ambassador Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan, Egypt Ambassador Walid Ahmed
Shamseldin and Indonesia Ambassador Rina Prihtyasmiarsi Soemarno were present
on behalf of the envoys of the Muslim countries.

The foreign minister expressed his gratitude to the ambassadors of the
Muslim countries stationed in Dhaka for their private help.

The Palestinian ambassador, on behalf of all Muslim missions here, said
their support would be continuing for Bangladesh in combating the deadly
coronavirus.

Dhaka district administration will distribute the food among the poor who
are in dire need of daily necessaries.
