DHAKA, April 9, 2020 (BSS) – The Land Ministry today issued an office
order extending the deadline for paying dues and the current year’s land
development tax by May 13 and postponing the Land Service Week and the Land
Development Tax Fair-2020 in view of the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
The order has been issued as per the directive of Land Minister
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, said a land ministry press release here.
According to the existing rules, the 30th Chaitra of the Bangla calendar
(April 13) is the deadline for paying the yearly land development tax, the
release said, adding that this year the deadline has been extended by one
month due to the general holidays and restriction on people’s movement in a
bid to check the spread of pandemic coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Land Service Week and the Land Development Tax Fair-2020
has been postponed until further notice, the release said.
